Bowling wides (Tribute to Scott Boswell)

The first one was down leg-side,

He hit me for a four;

Then I simply lost my head,

Bowled four wides in a row;

The over just refused to end,

It was a nightmare, my friend.

Feels so heavy in my hand,

The seam cuts through my skin;

The crowd simply goes berserk –

I can’t think through the din;

The over just refused to end,

It was a nightmare, my friend.

Line and length, accuracy-

All those I learnt in school;

Just when I need it the most,

I simply lost my cool;

The over just refused to end,

It was a nightmare, my friend.

Soon all this will be over,

I’ll take wickets again;

But right now, all I need is a

Place to hide, a den;

The over just refused to end,

It was a nightmare, my friend.
